Polyacrylamide (PAM) is a linear polymer with the chemical formula (C₃H₅NO)_n . It is a hard glassy solid at room temperature. Product Uses:
1. Used for industrial wastewater treatment, especially for suspended particles, coarse particles, high concentration, positively charged particles, and neutral or alkaline PH value of water, such as steel plant wastewater, electroplating plant wastewater, metallurgical wastewater, and coal washing wastewater. The sewage treatment effect is very good.
2. Drinking water treatment. The water from many water plants in our country comes from rivers and has a high content of sediment and minerals. It is relatively turbid. Although it has been subjected to sedimentation treatment, it still does not meet the requirements. It is necessary to add flocculants to make the water clear. Many water plants use Inorganic flocculant, but the dosage is one-fiftieth of that of inorganic flocculant, but the effect is several to dozens of times that of inorganic flocculant. Sometimes it works better when used in combination with polyaluminum chloride.
3. Used for the recovery of lost starch and wine tanks in starch factories and alcohol factories. Nowadays, the wastewater discharged by many starch factories has a high starch content. After discharge, it affects the environment and wastes resources. PAM is added to precipitate the starch. The sediment is filtered through a filter press and turned into cakes that can be used as feed.
4. Used as a water plugging agent for profile control and water plugging in oil fields, and as an oil displacing agent using oil three times.
5. Used as a papermaking additive, PAM has a wide range of uses in papermaking. It can be used as a long fiber papermaking dispersant, a dry and wet reinforcing agent, a retention aid, a filter aid, and a flocculant for papermaking wastewater.
